There are a variety of blogger and worpress templates on the internet ranging from paid to free ones just one google search away.There are even paid ones made available for free on piracy websites or torrents.I would suggest you to go for wordpress as in blogger you dont have much of customization option plus wordpress has loads of plugins which is very helpful in the long run.In case of blogger you wont be able to customize much but the positive point is blogger hosting is a free one and worpress.org is a paid one.In my case if you are a beginner the for sure go after blogger but slowly and gradually when you get to know about the benifits of wordpress.org over blogger then for sure you will migrate.
How to turn website idea into success
The most important thing is the interface.The more clean and attractive the website is the more visitors it attracts.Secondly make sure your website loads quickly because its staticaly proven that 40% of your visitors leave you website if your website loading speed is too slow.

Submit sitemaps after every blog post.
